DISNEY DAY!!!!
Today was Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea, which is Tokyo’s version of California Adventure, kind of like an adult park. This day was absolutely amazing. Katy had never been to Disneyland before, so it was extra magical for her. The park had a lot of similar rides to the California park, but didn’t have the same character that Disneyland does. Everything is so much more spaced out and you can see office buildings from the park. It had a much more “amusement park” feel than the regular Disney but was still so much fun! Then, after 6 p.m. we bought the “After 6 Pass” for DisneySea which you can buy for either park, depending on which one you spent the day at, and we spend our last 4 hours at that park. DisneySea is themed to different countries and it was weird because as we entered, there was a big globe in the center and we could look at it and say we’ve been around that whole thing.
The park has different sections also, like India, Italy, America/New York, and Mexico/the Aztec lands. We made our list of rides we wanted to go on, grabbed dinner in the Italy themed area of the park, and took off running. But literally, we started running, to make up for lost time while eating. Our favorite ride was the “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” which literally takes you on a journey to the center of the earth, through the layers and all and you end with a speeding exit to “the surface” with a beautiful view over the city and around the edge of the “volcano.” We also made it on an upside-down roller coaster (another first for Katy), a weather creator ride, complete with 4-D effects – yes we got splashed with water; Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride and a few more. Then, after Tower of Terror, we ended the night with 4 more rounds of Journey to the Center of the Earth. It was THAT fun, and our last ride, we all had our own row in a different car. We got off the last time and were walking out to the “closed park” announcements. It was an absolutely amazing day. We headed back to the hotel and headed to bed at a reasonable hour to prepare for our FDP trip the next day.
